Hello, neighbours.
Why the hell would you name your shop SM Jewellery? Even if it was S & M? :P I can't be the only one who thinks that's absolutely WRONG!

Off to JB later and Singapore tomorrow night. Strictly family time. Here I come, Orchard Road! :)

Food For The Soul #3
Because all I've been listening to lately isn't more of the type that would subscribe as music for the soul (think Shakira's Hips Don't Lie), I don't know any new music that would be suitable under this category. So, let's rewind a little.

Grammy award winner Alicia Keys hasn't released a new album since... well, it's been too long. :) Her strong vocals and the rhythm of her songs make listening to her so enjoyable. So here, I recommend 'The Diary of Alicia Keys' to you.

My favourite tracks:

You Don't Know My Name
If I Ain't Got You (you might be able to search online for the duet with Usher)
Diary, feat Tony! Toni! Tone!
Wake Up
When You Really Love Someone

Now, onto what you should read, I'm linking Wanster's Started So Soon, Ended Even Sooner. I read this one at the uni library and before I knew it, I was crying. I always love honest pieces about emotions, scattered or organised, so I hope you like it too.

Listen. Read. Enjoy. :)

Little struggles
Got struck down with girly sickness yesterday. I pretty much passed out in the bathroom from the pain. I think I gave Trinity quite a scare, lol. One minute I was lying on the floor in absolute agony wanting to strangle Eve, the next minute I wake up and the pain has disappeared. I could've drank from the toilet bowl to thank the inventors of Panadols.

No, I didn't. :P That statistic about women being able to live longer than men had better be true, after all we have to go through! Hehe..

I'm trying to finish up Fall, Part 5 (the other parts are linked on my side panel). It's actually quite hard writing this part 'cause I can't relate to it as much as I could with the other parts. In other words, it doesn't sound very sincere. I wish I could somehow say that I'm lucky enough to have been in her shoes, but I haven't. :) Nevertheless, when I finish it, I hope you guys will like it.

My hair is now super messy. The picture I've posted up was the result of a proper wash and blow-dry, so obviously that has now evaporated to nothing. A small part of me reckons I look like Minishorts; I honestly don't know what to make of that. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad thing to look like her. On the contrary. :) When I next post up photos, let me know what you think!

Finally, my hair cut takes place! :)
Heh, you might've noticed that the hair poll's closed. Thanks for all the votes! I finally went for a haircut today. We searched around SS2 for that promo my mom spotted ages ago and it was at Kimarie. From the poll, you guys voted for me to either leave my hair as it is or trim it. I couldn't leave it cause my hair was unmanageable and trimming wasn't the deal cause I'm not gonna get it cut for another year. Since my brother decided I needed a drastic change, layers it is. Trinity accompanied me throughout the entire 'ordeal'.

It was a bit disturbing seeing my long, long hair fall to the floor after facing the scissors' wrath, but that doesn't change the fact that the stylist was super ker-youtttttt! ;)

We were laughing because he guessed that I'm 20. I thought the haircut would make me look MY AGE but it just made me look older. It doesn't help that one of my brother's friends guessed that I'm 21 last night. =.= X 99999.

So this is the final result. The layers are very strongly defined and my fringe isn't too short, as I had requested. My hair is normally wavy but it was blow-dryed; that's why it's poker straight. It cost me RM18 for the cut, wash, and blow-dry, which is very well worth it!

Thanks to Trinity for her advice! :) She might be getting hers cut tomorrow. Maybe the super ker-youtttt stylist will be there tomorrow too. ;)

Guess who's the Asian Marilyn Monroe?
As promised, photos from the makeover. :) I can tell you now that it was free in conjunction with Mid Valley's Beauty Week and my mom splurging on Lancome. Hehe. Heh, obvious differences in quality of the pictures. For the sake of all the photography-holics out there, one was the Sony Cybershot U-10 that is from eons ago, hand-me-down from the older brother, and the other is the Olympus Micro 810, 8.0 megapixels, newly bought by my dad due to my sister dropping the Nikon.

Excuse this fit of narcissism. :)

I've rather perfected the deer in the headlights look.

The ear-rings are Mom's from a Singaporean store, and the top is from Salabianca. Yes, polka dots are in.

I think my brother was testing the camera in the car.

Yeah, this brother. The younger one.

Whaddya think? Asian Marilyn Monroe or what? Though I'll obviously never be as gorgeous as she was! I didn't go there, meaning to emerge looking like her; I think the polka dots started the look, lol. The makeup was awesome. It helps that the artist was super cute, hellooooo. ;) Too bad I'm too shy to sms him, haha. My hair wasn't done to my liking. I wanted something wavy and he just gave me baby curls. That really did me in for the Marilyn Monroe look.

If you had seen me in Mid Valley/KLCC on Friday, sorry if I scared you, hehe.

What's up with my calves?
Bloody hell, I couldn't see in the dark and kicked the bag of durian shells as I was trying to run an errand. Now my toes are bleeding. ISH!

Sometimes, I take my grandfather to the hospital for his dialysis, and my grandmother accompanies him. As we opened the glass door, I caught a reflection of my calves (below the knee). Now I haven't had skinny calves since beginning of Grade 12 cause that's when I started playing football. That's why they're called 'football legs'.

I then commented on to my grandma that they looked fat. I tried explaining why. My explanation should have been 'ngo tek boh tai doh' (I played too much football). Guess what came out of my mouth instead?

'Ngo tek tai doh boh' (I kicked too many balls).

I don't think she caught that. I did 2 seconds later. :P

What do you think...
of my new header? :)

Created with Macromedia Fireworks. Picture is my own. Glow in the dark stars (yes, that's what they are) came from Trinity.

2 cents on the so-called poetry would be much appreciated too! :)
