Pelican Whisky & Cola, Storm Twistonic & Brokeback Mountain (Reviews)
Ahhh... the second Valentine's Day review. A trip to Jusco's alcohol shop brought back a few memories involving Smirnoff, Cruisers and Southern Comfort. But anyway, we escaped with four bottles: Pelican Whisky & Cola, Storm Gin and Tonic, Storm Lychee and Booz Ice Cream Soda.

There Trinity and I were in my room after Love Actually, setting up laptop for Brokeback (no, not Brokenote) Mountain, preparing for a good night. So much for chick flicks!

As we watched the movie, we ate chips and drank and slowly decided what we liked and disliked about these 2:

We started with the Storm 'Twistonic' Gin & Tonic, since we knew the taste would be the worse of the two. It was 6.3% alcohol, a bit dry-tasting, and not very nice to the stomach. I wouldn't buy this again if I had a choice. Excuse me for being a sucker for those extra-sweet flavoured vodka stuff, and believing that beer is not fit for human consumption. One thing I did like: not the traditional 5%. Hated the design; it looked like a vinegar bottle. Made in Malaysia, sold for about 6, 7 bucks.

I give it a 2 and a half out of 5.

Next up Pelican's Whisky and Cola. 5% alcohol. Reminded me of a not so yummy rum and cola, but still, not too bad. Black, obviously, and looked like a Stout bottle. Not much to say about this one, really. About the same price.

3 out of 5.

And then I fell asleep cause the movie was too boring. Therefore, no chance to review the other two. Truth be told, the only interesting parts of the movie were the extremely gay ones. How very... uh... queer. Beautiful scenery. The number of sheep they used in that movie must've been Australia's entire sheep population. Their accents annoyed me, for some unknown reason. I normally like Jake Gyllenhaal's voice but this time, I just couldn't wait for him to shut up.

Trinity told me to wake up cause she spilled the Whisky & Cola on my bed. Made me wonder if she was a bit off. Haha. Anyway, gave my bed a bit of a wipe and turned the movie off. I don't plan to finish it either. Definitely didn't touch me like others said it would since it put me to sleep and for the record, I honestly doubt it was the alcohol, lol.

And this movie earns a 1 and a half out of 5. Sorry, Heath and Jake.

See that shirt I'm wearing in the picture? Take a better look:

Yes, I really love this hat at the moment. :P But anyway, get your own Heart4Hope shirt and support Yvonne Foong today!

Hello Haagen Dazs on V-day! (Review)
Trinity and I made the trip to Haagen Dazs yesterday, even though there were minor setbacks. *cough* Parents *cough* Brother! *cough*

Anyway, once I opened the menu, I groaned. How can they torment me like this?! No one should be compelled to pick just one because the pictures are marvellous. So drool-worthy! It was incredibly hard to make a decision. Should we order one each? Worse, WHAT should we order?

And then, we caught sight of the most fantastic menu item: chocolate fondue! It had all these dainty scoops of ice-cream and fruit with a chocolate hot pot. Like, can it get any better? Well, it did get worse. The price. *wince* 44 fricking bucks. How can they put it in the menu and expect people to pay such an extravagant price? Ergh!

Forced to skip it, there was another obstacle: dinner. Argh. So we decided to share one dessert. I can't for the life of me remember what it's called. Anyway, to rub salt in our wounds, there was a couple two tables away enjoying their fondue. I remember feeling very incredibly annoyed and telling Trinity to stop looking over at them so often, even though I was guilty of the exact. same. thing.

And then.. the grand yummylicious arrived! It looked exactly like the picture, like this:

You're lying if you're telling me you aren't drooling now. Oh, come take a closer look:

You hate me now, don't you? Don't worry, I have no pictures of that fondue. Dammit. :P

Six flavours of ice-cream. Fruits. Mango sauce. Chocolate sauce. Whipped cream. Chocolate leaf. Designed to ruin any diet; perfecto!

Just to let you know (and piss you off), our six flavours were:

Trinity's choices: brandied cherry, dulche de leche (in simple english, caramel), coconut-something, and

my choices: strawberry, cookies and cream and rum and raisin.

You know which one of us is more adventurous now. ;)

In the dark

It all started

When I walked alone

Into the tunnel

And suddenly

When I least expected

It grew a little less dark

Who would've thought

That when I left the tunnel

You'd still be here

And I told myself

That this isn't forever

It'll dim, disappear…

Who would've thought

That when you left

The dark would be that glaring

And then another light

Made its way through

But I still waited

I chose the dark

Than to let the other light

Show me the way

It's clearer now

I'll find another light

Or maybe it'll find me

I remain apologetic

To that second source

The one I pushed away...

Happy Valentine's Day.

P/S: I'm not putting a damper on Valentine's Day because if you really embrace that poem, you'll know that it's a happy ending. Be happy today, and please indulge in more chocolates and wine so I feel less guilty about going for ice-cream this afternoon. :)

It's looking rather pink in here...
Yes, the blog looks like me after football: pink. :) In the spirit of Valentine's, of course. Like the rest of the world, I realise that it's a commercialised day designed to rip everyone off. Nevertheless... :)

I know everyone who's single comfort themselves with this (or maybe it's just me :P), or they're a half of a pair trying to comfort their single friends, but Valentine's isn't just to be celebrated with your other half. Your family and friends can enjoy it too. Trinity came over today and gave me and lil' bro a nice handmade Valentine's card. Thanks, dearie.

Warning: The following might seem like I'm boycotting Valentine's so if you're perfectly content with today and tomorrow being great days, don't read the next part:

"I would have given you all of my heart, but there's someone who's torn it apart..." Rod Stewart's The First Cut Is The Deepest

Please forgive me for what I'm about to do this eve of Valentine's... cause I know it's going to take me much more time to forgive myself...

I realise I sound selfish, but I think you'll find it easier to do than me cause you'll move on. You'll find someone else. And I...

I'll be happy for you...

I really can't keep doing this...

A healthy alternative to ice-cream!
To all you fellas craving ice-cream, here's a healthy alternative!

I caught sight of a container of yogurt in the fridge after dinner. Its date of expiry was a month ago so there's no way my baby sister would be eating it. It's mine! Okay, so it's not all that healthy, but by all means, DON'T wait for it to expire.

Now, all you gotta do.... is throw it in the freezer! Sit on your hands for about.. oh, I dunno, an hour? Depends on how frozen you want it. Listen to some music. Talk to the wall. Whatever.

Then remove it from the freezer. Give it a good shake and take off the lid. Stir. Forget about James Bond, okay? Just shake AND stir! Then, I command you to indulge!

Mmm, baby's happily forgetting that she's sick now, in the face of irresistible strawberry yogurt.

Credits go to Kassy, who taught me that frozen yogurt doesn't have to be expensive. Hope you're having the best time in France!

Positive outlook
I haven't been reading Yvonne Foong's for very long. The first post that brought me to her blog was about the blogging formula. My take on it is here if you want to read about it.

Now that I've started reading her blog again, she really makes me realise that I am guilty of so much. I am fortunate, as much as I bitch about my life. She is facing so many more difficulties than I am, yet she looks at each day as an opportunity to record the happiest moments with the people she loves.

Every one of her posts are insightful and touching, and reduces me to feeling stupid for even devoting a single thought to the tiny things in my life that ultimately don't matter at all. I really admire her positivity and courage. If everyone could say that they want to live their best today... let's just say that things would be very different.

To support her so that she can get that surgery, I'm going to buy her t-shirt tomorrow from Subang Jaya. Go get one or call me. I have till next Friday to get one for you.

What's it mean to have a social life?
I insist that last night was a good session because my CS deaths were actually equivalent to my kills. Never happened before. So swallow it down and shush.

I've been told to get a guy because I replied 'what social life?' when asked how it is. What. the. hell? Since when does having someone equate to having a social life? I think denial is speaking but come on, I have a point.

Most couples HAVE no social life. I've kinda lost count of how many friends I've lost to their girlfriends and boyfriends because oh right, you've just gotten together and you gotta spend every moment with them and slowly descend into the point where friends no longer exist. I DO believe in the whole romantic 'there's only you' bit (what a stupid admission, but anyway), but I also like the part that continues on to say 'and there's also my friends'.

Kill me if I ever become a half of a pair who ditches my friends for my man just cause I feel obliged to. Ridiculous.

Anyway, then he continues to say that 'it's fun'. To get a guy. Is it me or does he make it sound like I just need to run along and pick up the newspapers? :P Well, he said he didn't mean it that way, only that I should find someone I can connect with. How do you go from the earlier point to that, I'll never comprehend. All I could do was remind him that it's not just me who makes one relationship. The other, extremely crucial person is... okay, not going there.

Well, just to let my friend know, no, I'm not worried I won't meet people and I'm not exactly scared to be forward. Yes, I know it's not easy to find someone I like. I hate stating the obvious, but anyway, moving along now, thanks for just bugging off online with a 'in the end, no matter who you have, you are alone in this world'.

I really don't have a shortage of bitches in my life. Please don't join them. I mean, you have to take a fucking number?

I hate patronising people who are halves of a pair. Almost as bad as mad relatives.

Have a brilliant day, now that I'm done chewing your ears eyes off.
